~ From Julia ~
Today was Boo and George’s 14th anniversary. It was an honor to perform their marriage ceremony. It was another hot day. We moved Crow to the public dock where we would stay to do a load of laundry, check out the gift shop, get fuel and water. Being on the dock we could see the ferry from Cortes Island come in… very very close to us, it carries about 30 vehicles. Heriot Bay Inn and Marina has been around a long time. It is now owned by a group of people from Quadra Island and we be came happily acquainted with many of the people there. We will return when Oceanna arrives. Our destination today was Waiatt Bay, in the Octopus Islands. We arrived at 7pm. We drove around to find our spot to anchor. We cooked tilapia fish for dinner with stir fry vegetables and a warm tortilla. Our night ended with a game of Domino Train.
The books we are reading are: The Curve of Time; Puffin Cove; and Totem Poles and Tea;
Traveling these beautiful places where the Indigenous People lived for thousands of years reminds us that we are visitors to these amazing places.
