Day… WHALES! Pics.

~ From Nate ~

It got late again. We’ve covered about 100 miles in the last 2 days, criss-crossing the Strait of Georgia.

No recap today other than it was beautiful and a little exhausting. More tomorrow, but…

WHALES.

It’s pretty sweet to have your own boat-video-production craft to tow along, and when the moment reveals itself, live out a dream and hop onto a pontoon from the canoe stern of Crow and send it to capture ideal running shots.

Then, superlatives and flowery adjectives and heady concepts become insufficient when your dream video shoot is interrupted by a giant KASHHHHOOOOMM and a huge splash ahead.

Sure, several humpbacks playing and feeding.

We stopped our engines immediately and enjoyed their random routes before disappearing. The Crow sailed gently away, and there’s even a pic with a whale on the left and Crow on the right! I highly recommend zooming in on this set of pictures.

We’re in Tribune Bay, a sandy beach paradise on Hornby Island. Tomorrow is July, which also means Canada Day. We’re not exactly sure what that means, but we’re assuming it means party.

Enjoy the whales, and the Crow, and the Crow and the whales.
